However, you have some parties on Decemilla that have gained an interest in The Brick Moon and it's contents, wanting to both study and exploit it's resources. Though since The Brick Moon doesn't have anything resembling radios, some Sargassians will have to provide the inhabitants with radios so they can communicate better instead of the inhabitants all just jumping in unison to make morse code. So you can imagine that when The Brick Moon ends up over Decemilla near where their Moon usually is, you have some scientists on the ground going, ' Space Stations! Don't! Work That Way!!!' Though just imagine that the Sargassians that can fly end up on The Brick Moon and interact with the natives and actually bring them down to the ground so they could be around other people again. PLUS they aren't dying from the the vacuum of space. I mean seriously, an artificial satellite that's 200 ft in diameter made of bricks and wood, with actual people living on it and feeding on animals and plant-life that have evolved at lightspeed so the humans can eat them and survive on the moon. Though considering that this book was written in the mid 1800s, the science behind The Brick Moon is kinda eyebrow raising to say the very least. The same story that introduced the very first artificial satelitte and livable space station in science fiction. The author even correctly surmised the idea of needing four satellites visible above the horizon for navigation, as in modern-day GPS.
